Use Our Photos to Grow Your Social Media Following

BERLIN, GERMANY JULY 2019: Woman hand holding iphone Xs with logo of instagram application. Instagram is largest and most popular photograph social networking.

It’s no secret that social media can be a wonderful (free) resource to reach more leads and connect with current and potential homebuyers. However, without a clear strategy and understanding of the different platforms, social media can be a terrifying pit of wasted money, time, and resources (which I am sure we have all experienced at one point or another).

So how can you maximize your efforts on Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter? Well we’re glad you asked!

• Collaborate: Utilize your business partnerships & personal network

Utilizing your existing business relationships and individuals in your social sphere is imperative to effectively expanding your social reach! The best way to grow organically on social media, no matter what the platform is (Instagram, Facebook, etc.) is by collaborating and actively engaging with your current clients, parent company, real estate photography company and photographer, and any other business that helps you market your listing. Think of social media algorithms like this: the more you engage with your network and the more your network engages with you, the more your photos/posts get exposed to new viewers! It’s a win win scenario, simple as that.

• High-Quality Photos: Using high-quality images is key to getting people to stop and read your post. Once you have purchased a photo or video package from Skyline Pictures, they are yours to promote however you want. A couple professional listing photos is a great way to get your followers to stop in their tracks.

• Keywords  …anywhere and everywhere…but use them mindfully
We know you’ve heard the buzzword before: keywords. But they really do work ONLY IF you use them wisely. Placing keywords randomly throughout your posts will not work. Think of it this way, if you had to explain to a five year old what was pictured in an image or video you are posting in one sentence or phrase that should be the copy you use in your post. Basically, you are telling Google this is what is in this picture, now show it to the people that are looking for it.

• Hashtags…do they really work? Yes, yes, they do.
Did you know that a post with at least one Instagram hashtag averages 12.6% more engagement than posts without a hashtag. Even in 2022, using relevant, targeted hashtags on your posts and stories is one of the best ways to get discovered by new audiences on Instagram. And this can translate into more engagement, more followers, and more customers for your business.

• Alt Text for images on Instagram and Facebook
Think of Alt Text (Alternate Text) for Instagram and Facebook like an extension of Social SEO. Aside from being used when the internet is slow and a picture cannot load or for those with visual disabilities, Alt Text is a fantastic way to help more users find and engage with your content!

Don’t forget that both Instagram and Facebook have their own search bars, where users can type in keywords to find what they are looking for. For example, if someone is looking for a new condo in Columbia, South Carolina they may type into Google “plush condo with resort-style amenities, unmatched views and walkable access to the best of Columbia!” BUT they may also type a similar search query on social and find your listing easier and quicker if you include a thorough Alt Text description for each of your images.
